Nonlinear Optics
Nonlinear optics studies the nonlinear effects generated by the interaction between light and a nonlinear medium when light propagates in the medium. These effects include second harmonic generation, third harmonic generation, four wave mixing, self phase modulation, and supercontinuum generation. The generation of these effects usually requires strong light as a light source, and industrial ultrafast lasers are ideal tools for providing such strong light sources.
The Shenglei Hercules femtosecond laser series can be used to study the properties of new nonlinear optical materials. By measuring the nonlinear refractive index changes and nonlinear absorption characteristics of materials under different light intensities, the nonlinear optical properties of materials can be evaluated, providing basic data for the development of new nonlinear optical devices.
